Dr. Maria Boyle is an evidence-based chiropractor and a functional acupuncture provider who holds a Doctor of Chiropractic degree, a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology degree from the University of New Brunswick and a certificate in Functional Integrated Acupuncture.

From a young age, Dr. Maria herself has always been involved in sport and advocating healthy living in Saint John, NB. Maria played rugby competitively representing New Brunswick at the national level and was a member of UNB women’s rugby team.

She still demonstrates an active lifestyle and living through the motto “motion is lotion” by participating in multiple forms of physical activity throughout the week including triathlon training and CrossFit.

Dr. Maria wants to help others make a positive change before an acute condition becomes chronic. Dr. Mollie Brennan is a naturopathic doctor who uses modalities such as nutrition, botanical medicine, and acupuncture to help balance the body and assist you in achieving your health goals. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry-Nutri- tion at Memorial University of Newfoundland, and a doctor of naturopathy degree from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine.

Dr. Mollie has always been interested in complementary and alternative forms of medi- cine since she was a young adult struggling with Hashimotos thyroiditis. She believes in evidence based care, and aims to work with your values, goals, and primary care providers to have you thrive and enjoy yourself! Her areas of interest include irritable bowel syndrome, hypothyroidism, and hyperthyroidism. She has experience supporting anxiety/depression, acne, perimenopause, headaches, paediatric autism spectrum disorder, and welcomes anyone looking to connect the dots with how they can make their body feel better.

Meagan was raised here in Saint John and graduated from the massage therapy program at Eastern College in June 2022. Her primary goal is assessing each client and creating a unique treatment plan based on their desired outcomes. She treats many musculoskeletal injuries while integrating deep tissue work, stretching techniques and myofascial work into her treatments.

Marc-André has worked as an Occupational Therapist in the Saint John area since 2014. He began his health career as a Massage Therapist, prior to attending UNB Fredericton for his bachelor’s degree and Dalhousie University for his master’s degree. He is committed to helping people improve their lives by empowering greater independence and increasing their functional ability. He values building professional working relationships built on respect, empathy, and equity.

While working for WorkSafe NB, he has helped individuals recovering from physical injuries resume their meaningful occupations and developed extensive knowledge of chronic pain management. Leah Duncan, R.Ac, B.Sc, is a qualified acupuncturist who completed a 3-year diploma in Traditional Acupuncture at the Canadian College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (CCATCM) in Bedford, Nova Scotia. She also received additional training in sport acupuncture. scalp acupuncture and facial rejuvenation acupuncture. In addition, Leah has completed a Bachelor of Science and Applied Nutrition and Dietetics at Mount Saint Vincent University.

Leah has a particular focus on sport acupuncture, and she is skilled in addressing a wide range of conditions and common sports injuries related to musculature and tendons, such as strains, sprains, tears, and tendonitis. In addition, Leah is experienced in working with individuals who suffer from acute or chronic pain injuries, TMJ discomfort, migraines, stress, women’s health issues, and digestive problems, among others. She takes pleasure in treating all conditions and creating a personalized treatment plan for each patient.

Nathan has been actively working as a physiotherapist since 2016, he is a local graduate of KVHS and went on to attend UNB Fredericton before completing his Masters Degree at Dalhousie University.

Nathan played competitive soccer in his youth representing New Brunswick at the national level and still maintains a keen interest in sports, having worked field-side with UPEI, UNB football, the Saint John Trojan’s rugby team and SJHS football.

Meet Samantha Edwards.

Originally from PEI, Samantha completed her Masters of Physiotherapy at Dalhousie University in Halifax. In 2018 she and her husband moved to NB where they have established roots and created a beautiful family. Samantha believes in taking a proactive and evidence-based approach when treating all of her clients. After having two children, she has since directed her passion towards women’s health. She has continued her education to better help clients with incontinence, prolapse, pelvic pain, pregnancy, postpartum assessment and more.

Taryn is an evidenced-based 4th year chiropractic student from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Saint John New Brunswick. Taryn grew up in Quispamsis and was involved in many sports growing up, focusing mainly on basketball. Throughout her undergrad degree she enjoyed volunteering at a local care home and being the assistant basketball coach at her previous high school.

Taryn always enjoyed being a team member, having an active lifestyle, and helping others. This lead her to realize that she can do all of that and more being a chiropractor. Taryn enjoys treating people of all ages, acute injuries, and chronic pain. She is passionate about helping others optimize their health through education, chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue therapy, and rehabilitative exercises.

Taryn now enjoys being active in her everyday life through strength training, trail walking, and boxing. Carla grew up in Miramichi NB, where she started her fitness career. Being an athlete all her life this was a natural path, and she hasn’t looked back since. Moving to Saint John in 2000, she has had many fitness roles ranging from personal trainer to fitness instructor. Working with body movement and anatomy, massage therapy seemed to be the next obvious step for her.

Carla has been a practising Registered Massage Therapist since 2005. She integrates trigger point therapy, deep tissue work and myofascial cupping to provide effective relief of muscular tension and promote over all health. She also teaches a variety of fitness classes which gives her a unique opportunity understand and to work with body mechanics which she applies in her treatment approach.

Most weekends, you will likely find her in an arena behind the scenes or right on the bench working with the hockey players from teams that her boys are on. Being active herself and a hockey mom of 2 boys, she acknowledges the benefits of massage therapy for young athletes (as well as the seasoned ones 😊) and incorporates stretching, strengthening and joint mobility into her treatments.

Dr. Rick is an evidence-based chiropractor that is passionate about helping people move better, feel better and be the best version of themselves. His practice style includes a combination of education, chiropractic adjustments, acupuncture, soft tissue therapy and rehabilitative exercises. Whether you are in an acute episode of pain, struggling with a chronic condition or looking to optimize performance, Dr. Rick is confident that he can work with you to create a positive change in the way you move and live.

Rick was born and raised outside of Cornwall, Ontario. As an active child and young adult he reaped many benefits of sport and physical activity but also suffered the consequences of several sport-related injuries. This early exposure to injury and its impact on performance and wellbeing provided his drive to help others in similar situations. Following high school he pursued an Honours Bachelor of Physical and Health Education at Queen’s University, where he was also a member of the men’s varsity basketball team. After graduating from Queen’s he began his 4-year Doctor of Chiropractic program in Toronto. During his time in Toronto he continued to stay involved with the sports world as a baseline concussion-testing specialist at Holland Bloorview Kid’s Rehabilitation Hospital, medical staff for the York Lions and Scarborough Thunder OVFL football clubs and as a personal trainer at Shock Fitness in Muskoka, ON.

Originally from Fogo Island, Newfoundland, Marcus completed his Bachelor’s of Movement Science in Sports Medicine at Westfield State University in Westfield, Massachusetts, while playing NCAA ice hockey. He then went on to complete his Masters of Physiotherapy at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. During his time at Dalhousie University, he was a student trainer for the Halifax Wolverines U15 AAA ice hockey team and the U-16 Team Nova Scotia male ice hockey team at the QMJHL cup in Moncton, NB. Marcus maintains an evidence-based approach to physiotherapy and stays current with new advancements in physiotherapy practice. His treatment approach uses education, therapeutic exercise, and manual therapy, paired with collaboration with each individual to identify their personal goals and create a tailored treatment plan to help improve their quality of life.

Growing up, Marcus played competitive ice hockey and played Junior A in New Brunswick for the St. Stephen County Aces and NCAA at Westfield State University in Westfield, Massachusetts.
